Beautiful Audrey’s Farmhouse Wedding

Crazy Weather!!

You know how in the Alanis song there is much ado over the weather being sub-optimal on your wedding day? No matter. Sometimes when it rains, ahem, pours, and the wind beats the willows against your farmhouse, you just make a cozy fire in the fireplace and move on!! Such was the crazy weather at this Audrey’s Farmhouse Wedding. And it just made the visuals even more stunning!!

Blustery day at Audrey's Farmhouse Wedding of Maggie and James

Setting:

Talk about cozy- the getting ready cabin at Audrey’s Farmhouse is ideal! It is just the cutest, warmest, coziest place with beautiful details. It feels really old which is so much cozier than new, IMHO.

And the bedrooms upstairs are the perfect backdrop for putting on your beautiful wedding gown!

I love a good rainy wedding, some of the best weddings I have ever been to were in the rain or on very rainy windy days!!! In addition Maggie & James, you can check this one, and this one too!!

PLANTS!

Now the getting ready cabin is great, for sure, but nothing beats the greenhouse at

Audrey’s!! Literally nothing! For those of you who read these blogs regularly, you know how I feel about plants (like they are the best thing ever after coffee and pastries!!) and so a whole venue centered around providing great light to beautiful plants? Ummmmm….. YES. Let’s nerd out for one quick second and talk about living in glass houses (don’t throw stones, for one thing, yes) but seriously, you would always be bathed in the best light. It is just a house made of skylights? Perfect!

Moral of the Story- Live in a Greenhouse and if this is not possible, at least get married in one!!! HAHAHA

OK Moving on… I get distracted super easily…

Audrey’s Farmhouse – Dancing:

So I try REALLY hard not to cry at weddings, I mean, I am attached to the people I work for, and I care about you/them, but it is YOUR event. So I always feel a little weird getting choked up, when you are trying to blend in and be invisible, being a sniveling mess is not an asset.

Sometimes this is so hard that I just give up. Like at Maggie & James’ wedding, post parent dances, when James and his mom brought Maggie in to dance with them, and then Maggie’s son joined in and then the James’ son… And this blended family reminded me so much of my own that I just absolutely lost my hold on those tears and some escaped.

This was such a highlight of the day for me. The whole point of life– is loving and being loved, finding family, making family, being devoted to family and your mate. It is so comforting to see weddings like this one, where you know that now, the world is a little bit better, a little more secure, a little more happy.

Many years of happiness and health you four!!
