Upstate New York Backyard Wedding
Backyard wedding
Caitlin and Ben’s Upstate New York Backyard wedding was just what they wanted it to be, personal and perfect! Choosing her own Delmar backyard proved to be the perfect location for this gorgeous event, set with a backdrop of amazing tall aged trees!
Celebrating the Moments
The bride and groom chose to have a celebration that honored the moments. Their wedding day, on their terms. This allowed them to be free from the over-planned timelines they felt might stifle those moments and it saved them a bucketload of money.
Backwards/ Backyards
In their own words, theirs was a relationship that started out backwards. They didn’t follow a traditional trajectory, as they started out as co-workers, but ended up as soulmates. It wasn’t a cookie-cutter romance, but it blossomed over time.
Could it be a coincidence that by changing only one letter, backwards becomes backyards? I think not! While not the most obvious choice for a venue, bringing it all back to their own backyard meant they could control everything from the budget down to the smallest details. This resulted in the feeling of home– all throughout every part of their wedding day.
Upstate and down home
Caitlin and Ben’s wedding day was phenomenal! While ditching the standard wedding timeline, in favor of a looser approach, they made the most of the day. This bride and groom wanted a day that felt like all their loved ones coming together for lots of love and laughter, without the unnecessary bits and that is exactly what they pulled off! How many venues will let you put wigs on your dog for intros and your first dance?
Florals
The florals were incredible. Mt Laurel Floral’s work brought all the beautiful backyard deco that family members built with Caitlin & Ben absolutely to life. All that wood stuff? They MADE it!!!!
Backyard Barbecue
If you are doing all the planning yourself, hand-picking all your faves is a plus. The combination of various vendors to supply the food for this party made the most of every delicious detail, from Dinosaur Bar B Que to the Full Cord Pizza truck. Chocolate was the obvious choice for dessert.
